FOR THE PROJECT «HABIT:COMBIEN EST ENCORE? », I EXAMINED PARALLELS BETWEEN THE RECORD DECLINE OF INSECTS IN EUROPE AND MARKETING STRATEGIES AIMED AT CONSUMPTION. THESE STRATEGIES RELY ON THE PROMISE OF IMMEDIATE EXPERIENCES AND A BETTER FUTURE. SLOGANS SUCH AS «TOGETHER AHEAD» OR «NACHHALTIG FÜR DIE ZUKUNFT», FOUND FOR EXAMPLE IN WEAPONS OR TRAVEL CATALOGS, ACT AS COGNITIVE LEVERS, MASKING THE CONSEQUENCES OF THESE INDUSTRIES ON OUR HABITAT. IN CONTRAST, SCIENTISTS, ARTISTS, AND PHILOSOPHERS INVITE US TO RETHINK FUTURE(-S) IN THE PLURAL, TO QUESTION OUR CHOICES, AND TO CRITICALLY REFLECT ON COLLECTIVE CONCEPTIONS OF TIME AND NATURE.
